Through the use of this site, I am going to try and keep you connected with Nayaug Elementary School, your child as a student and myself. Please be aware that the intent of this site is NOT to replace your child's academic planner, rather to supplement it.

Current News and Events

 Open house is Tuesday September 9th.

School Picture day is Tuesday September 16th.

Ice Cream Social is Thursday September 18th from 5:30-7.

Discovery Center Meeting is Tuesday September 23rd.

Rosh Hashanah is Tuesday September 30th, no school.

Yom Kippur is Thursday October 9th, no school.

Columbus Day is Monday October 13th, no school.

Short Wednesdays begin September 3rd and through November.

I'll be calling homes in early October to schedule our first round of parent-teacher conferences.

Discovery Center Trip is Monday October 20th through Wednesday October 22nd.

 


Math Tasks:
Please insist that your child takes excellent notes in class, this will help them to study for tests and quizzes.
Expect about 15 to 20 minutes of math homework per night.

You should read for 25 minutes a night.
As a class we have been reading picture books and reminding ourselves about some great reading behaviors. Ask your child about making connections, asking questions, inferencing and visualization. These are all things your child must engage in while reading.
