Students & Parents: We completed our first unit and have started our second unit, Covering and Surrounding.  This unit supports 2-dimensional geometric figures. Students will focus on area and perimeter of squares, rectangles, triangles, parallelgrams, and cirlcles.

Attention Parents and Students: We will begin our Unit Test on Wednesday, October 29th.  Review the Study Guide (in your blue tool box section), your vocabulary (in the gold vocabulary section) and your past quizzes (in the pink assessment section).  I will be available for help Monday after school.

You should know how to read and interpret: line plots, bar graphs, stem-and-leaf plots, and coordinte graphs.  You should know how to find the median, mode, mean, and range for each type of display.  You should also how to create each display type given survey results.  you should also know the difference between numerical and categorical data.

*********************************************************************We We have started our new unit called Data About Us.  Students will learn how to collect, display, and evaluate data.  They will learn about measures of center- mean, median, and mode as well as outliers and the effects when we change a data point.  They will use line plots, bar graphs, stem-and-leaf plots, and coordinate graphs.
