Reminders for 12th Grade Presentations (Sports Lit)

Your presentation, whether it's argumentative or expository, should reflect the points made in your paper.  Your primary task is to illustrate for the class the points made in your paper.  You should use compelling visuals (videos, images, charts, graphs, etc.) to help support your claims.

Please check the portfolio packet for requirements (length, slides, citations, etc.)

AP Literature - Presentation Guidelines

The purpose of your presentation is to share what you've learned about the poet you've been studying.  Below is a suggested organization, but you are all free to organize the presentation in any manner you like (as long as all necessary information is included)

You should begin by presenting any relevant background/biographical information.  Remember, this project is more about the tendencies of the poet as a writer, so this section doesn't have to be too long unless the information has a strong impact on the poet's writing.

Next, provide samples of the author's poems to illustrate the themes, topics, poetic devices, and literary style that are emblematic of the poet's writing,  You can include the poems on your sides, but you should present the analysis by speaking to the class rather than just reading from the PowerPoint.

Lastly, provide the class with an exemplary poem to analyze for the poet's hallmarks.  You'll know your presentation was effective if the class is able to identify the poet's style within the poem.

You are encouraged to include engaging media, such as videos, images, or sound clips, but you as the presenter should still be the "star of the show".  An engaging speaker uses a varying voice, eye-contact, body language and overall presence to capture his or her audience's attention.

You will turn this assignment in by sharing the file with me through Office 365. Please contact me with any questions.
