Hello Parents/Guardians,

In the past week, we have been discussing the first Thanksgiving Feast in America.  The children watch "The Story of America" and we discussed:

                        - Who were the Pilgrims? - They were the people who first landed in America.

                        - Where the Pilgrims landed?- Which was at Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1620.

                        - How did the Pilgrims get here?- They sailed on ship called the Mayflower.

                        - What did the Pilgrims eat at their Feast? - They ate wild turkeys, corn, carrots, turnip and seafood.

On Monday, November 21st we will be celebrating Thanksgiving in the school cafeteria by having our own "Thanksgiving Feast".  Parents are invited to help serve the wonderful food you all provided or come to take pictures. Please not before 1pm.  You can drop off the food items during drop-off in the morning or when we discussed.  Thank you in advance for helping make this a wonderful experience.

We have completed of study of "Trees" and the children had a great time learning many different things about them.  Our next study will be "Buildings".  We will be learning concepts and skills in science, math, the arts and literacy.  We will also be using thinking skills to investigate, ask questions, solve problems, make predictions, and test our ideas.  Request:  We need your help!  If you could bring to school empty cereal boxes or pictures of real building ( apartments, gas stations, churches, castles, etc.) they would be great.

On Wednesday, November 23rd we will have a regular dismissal of 2:35pm.  If you would like to pick-up your child at noon(12:00) when the k-8 are dismissed just let me know so we can have them ready for you at that time.  There is After School that day starting at 2:35pm.

 Practice at Home

Writing their first names (upper case first initial and lower case the rest).

As always, if you have any questions or concerns just let me know and I will make time for you.

Thank you,

Mrs. Graham
