Hi Parents/Guardians,

Well our classroom has completed another area of study, "Clothes".  The children enjoyed many fun books like: Corduroy, Caps for Sale and The Mitten to name a few.  We discussed sequencing of the events in books and then they drew a picture of their favorite part of the book.  The children also had to sort mittens in size order of small, medium and large.  We also created art work on tee shirts the children brought into school which was a lot of fun for them.  Our final family engagement portion of the clothing study was Multi-Cultural Day which was a great success thanks to all of you bringing in various food items.

Our next area of study is "Recycling".  We will discuss what is the difference between trash and recycling.  Where does trash go once it leaves your house? What does it mean to be green?  How can we all help to reduce, reuse and recycle.  In addition, we will reach all areas the curriculum such as, math, science, social studies, literature and art.

Please continue to have your children practice writing their names at home.  If they bring it into school, I will give them a sticker and write good job on the paper.
