We have been working hard learning ZooPhonics (a program that teaches the sound of the letters using a "signal" to cue the student) and we are learning our sounds FAST! I am very proud of our boys and girls. They love to sing the song by Dr. Jean - Who Let the Letters Out?. We are learning how to sort and make patterns. We are also learning about children who learn differently than we do. We have a child in our class who is blind and uses a cane. He is also learning braille (and we are too!). We are learning that some people learn differently than we do and it is ok! Mrs. Weaver says "I give you what you need, when you need it." Sometimes a child will need more help with a skill than others and that is ok too.
Keep working hard at home on writing our letters and numbers correctly!

We have had a great first week of school learning all of the rules and procedures of being in kindergarten. We've learned how to unpack our book bags, how to sit in our chairs the right way and even how to line up in our name order. We've learned how to get our breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria and are working on how to behave at the table.
I am so proud of the way my little ones have done this week. Coming to school for the first time is a very scary and new experience and these guys have done great!
I'm excited about our 2nd week of school starting on Tuesday!
