Dear Parents,

October will soon come to a close and progress reports have been sent home already.  Some of the students continue to do well academically, but some of the students are struggling.  The students have two weeks before parent-teacher conferences to improve.  In order for us to ensure that their grades improve please make sure they are completing homework each night and studying for all assessments.  The homework is updated each night so that the parents are aware of what is being assigned in each class.  I have noticed that website is being checked and it makes me happy to know that their is parent involvement.

I also would like to congratulate Nicole Perez who was our first student chosen to be the student of the month for October. Great job, Nicole! I am looking for our new student of the month for November.

Two trips have been planned for our class. The first trip will be to St. Patrick's Cathedral on December 13, 2016.  After our visit to the Church we will cross over and enjoy the viewing of the tree at Rockerfeller Center. The second trip will be to the Bronx Zoo in May.  I will forward details as the date gets closer.  I am also planning to see the Rockettes sometime in December.  The cost of this trip is $45 for Orchestra seats.  I will send information soon.

I will continue to update you as news arises.  Have a great day and nice weekend!

Mrs. Rodriguez

Dear Parents,

The month of September has quickly escaped us.  I must say that it has been a productive 1st month of school.  The 6th grade students have been very busy learning.  In religion they have learned about how God has revealed himself to us and now we have just finished our family trees (pictures in the photo gallery). In literature they have learned about citing evidence, character traits, and main idea and details. The students have also been introduced to vocabulary and spelling.  I am very pleased with their progress and so should you.   Look for in the coming month.
