Students are expected to begin reading a novel that he/she has NOT read before. Most of the work on the book report for the literature fair will be done in class after Memorial Day. A rubric will be given with further details. Thank you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 6th grade: Reading: Final reading test Wed. 5/21 We will also continue writing on how to respond to literature using the "ACE" method. A=Answer the question, C-cite evidence from the text, and E=Expand your answer Poetry unit: Identifying and analyzing the various tools poets use in their poems such as alliteration, personification, rhyme scheme, simile, metaphor, onomatopoeia...and etc. *Poetry Test: Tues. 5/27 Spelling: A new list will be given, students will be expected to write these words 3x each, define and complete a worksheet for practice. Reading: Reading test 5/27 *Students will also be participating in literature circle groups and learning about various roles such as the passage master, summarizer, vocabulary finder, character charter, critical thinker, and illustrator. Writing Unit: Autobiography writing. See rubric. Final paper due date has been changed to Wed. May 5/21 Spelling: A new list will be given, students will be expected to write these words 3x each, define and complete a worksheet for practice.
