Monday – January 5
Objective: Students will be able to use vocabulary correctly and be able to recognize literary terms.
Resource: Teacher handout
Teacher Activity: Hand out terms. Pronounce and go over them. Then give them the writing assignment.
Student Activity: Using the vocabulary words, write a creative story in which you utilize your knowledge of grammar. Include a compound/complex sentence, an imperative sentence, a sentence with a gerund phrase, a sentence with an infinitive phrase, a simple sentence, and a compound sentence. Underline these elements and identify them in the margin.
HOMEWORK: Each student is to bring in three different political cartoons by Thursday.
