First Grade Shoe Tying Club:  Congratulations to the first members of this year's First Grade Shoe Tying Club.  From 1A:  Paris Coleman, Lora Donovn,Hanna Feeney, Christopher Forte, Joseph Morris, Isabelle Palumbo, Sofia Paris and Jenna Perrotta.  From 1B:  Nicholas Bittner, Cole CAlabro, Cameron Forte, Mia Mollicone, Felicia Narvaez, Brady Parmentier, Michael Periquito, Joseph Powers, Hayley Raposa, Morgan Reil, Arianna Salam and Alyssa Zompa.  To be in the club, the students have to be able to double knot their own sneakers.  The students next chance to be in the club will be in December.

Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten:Students in these grades will begin a unit on Movement Exploration and Simple Games this week.  They will be working with the hoops, colors, numbers and patterns.   They will also be working on tag games and the safety skills involved to play them. 

First, Second and Third Grades: Students in these grades are in a unit on Movement Exploration and Simple Games. These are  two units that complement each other.  Jump ropes will continue to be part of the warm-up.  We will be working on jog jumping for the next few classes in first grade, partner jumjping in second grade and pattern jumping in third grade.


Fourth-Fifth Grades:  Students in fifth grade have benefited from the good weather and have been working in a Soccer Unit the past two weeks (normally a sprin unit).  They will continue this week if the weather holds out.  Grade 5B will have gym class on Tuesday with 5A due to the holiday.  Fourth grade has wrapped up their unit on Ball Games and Lead-up Skills.  They will begin a unit on Dodgeball and Tag Games this week.  Grade 4B will have gym class on Tuesday with 4A due to the holiday.

Sixth-Eighth Grades:  Students in these grades will continue to stay outside this week.  They will enjoy another break week between units while playing some "Teeball".   They will still be doing circuits as part of their warm-up along with a variety of stretches and exercises.   

Intramural News: The championship games in soccer took place last Monday.  In the sixth grade tournament, U.S.A. remained undefeated after the teams battled it out 1-0 in a record 4 overtime shoot outs.  Players for first place U.S.A. are: Ricardo Burdiel (captain), Steven Rossi, Mason Feole, Brett Morris, Ariana Salera, Alexis Tella and Victoria Hartley.  Players for second place Portugal are: Aurora Mazza (captain), Kaitlyn Tarro, Michael Russo, Sofia Cadden, Zach Rossi and Joseph Lembo. In the 7th and 8th grade tournament, it took two games for Chile to capture the crown 1-0 against Argentina.  Players for  1st place Chile are: Steven Gervasio (captain), Armani Henderson, Ryan Galagarza, Steven Avarista, Peter Pagliarini, Bobby DeBarros, and Yanyelle Torres.  Players for second place Argentina are: Christian Stufano (captain), Mason Cote, Carla Pineyro, Michael Calise, Gabriella Alves, Gina Pate, and Harrison Zambarano.
