WEEK OF NOVEMBER 9th GENERAL NOTES: No school Wednesday - Veteran's Day
Please check your child's agenda daily for any homework or general notes. Please go over any papers that your child brings home and send back any "sign and returns". Please remember that we are a peanut-free school. Thank you for your cooperation and helping to keep our children safe. MATHWe will review Chapter 3 in our Math books. We will have a Math test on Tuesday. On Thursday we start Multiplication!! Students usually have a math workbook page for homework each night. Please also practice math facts. Students should not be using their fingers to add or subtract.
READINGWe will continue reviewing the story Wolf. We will discuss fantasy vs. reality, multiple meaning words and the new vocabulary. The reading test will be on Friday of this week. Students will always have test days written in their agendas. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. We are continuing to use a dictionary in our writing. Please encourage your child to use a dictionary at home to give them more practice. This is a very important skill and they are doing a great job with it. We also continue to practice reading and following directions on all assignments. Please encourage your child to try to read and follow directions on their homework before stepping in to help!
ENGLISHWe will be discussing singular and plural nouns. We will also be writing a How-To Article this week.
SPELLINGThe spelling test will be on Friday. Words are in student's agendas.
RELIGIONWe will continue in Chapter 5 and Chapter 6, The Church Year. We will discuss how the Apostles led the Church, and how we all share the good news of Jesus as his followers.
SOCIAL STUDIESWe will discuss Veteran's Day and do activities.
SCIENCEWe will continue our unit on plants. We will discuss the life cycle of a plant. Students will take notes in their notebooks.
*We are also reviewing and practicing our cursive handwriting daily! Students have relearned all of the lowercase letters and are working on uppercase. All work should be done in cursive!
