Welcome to the HHES Band Website!
Welcome back! I am excited to begin another year with your youngmusician! We are starting band lessons for returning students on Wednesday, September 9. Returning students will need their instrumentsand lesson books for their first lesson of the school year. We will bejumping right back in to lessons, and I'm sure your young musician isready to learn some new music! We will be recruiting new band members over the course of the next fewweeks. I will be meeting with interested students on Friday, September18 to answer questions, hand out literature, and demonstrateinstruments. I will also be presenting an information meeting forinterested parents at the Holly Hall Elementary Open House on Thursdayevening, September 17 at 6:00 pm. If you have any questions aboutenrolling your child in band, this meeting is for you! This year's Instrument Showcases will be held on Tuesday, September 22at Elkton High School and Wednesday, September 23 at Rising Sun HighSchool. Vendors will be available to rent or sell instruments andequipment from 5 pm to 9 pm on both of these dates. If you can't makeit to an Instrument Showcase, you can contact me for information on howto acquire instruments and materials. Band lesson days are on WEDNESDAYS and FRIDAYS. Students will need to bring their lessonbooks and instruments to school every week for their band lesson. Having instruments and lesson books are extremely important parts ofband practice. Your child can't learn without them! Please be sureyour child brings their band materials each week, and encourage yourchild to practice at home every day!!
