Course Overview: ALGEBRA 1

The following areas of the Algebra will be studied this academic year: Linear and Non-linear Functions, Expressions, Equations, Inequalities, Polynomials, Systems of Equations and Inequalities, Ratio and Proportions, as well as basic Right Triangle Trigonometry. Understanding the mathematical process i.e. the combination of critical thinking and problem solving and an ability to communicate an understanding both in writing and orally will be an essential part of our academic studies.

 Algebra 1 students, please note:

The quantity of work you will asked to complete the first semester is rather large and the demands I must and will make on you, my students, will be great but I am certain that you are up to the task at hand. Know that I will be with you all the way. Although, the quantity of material to be covered in the second will be less than the first the topics themselves will be a bit more challenging. A challenge you are certain to welcome and meet. Again be assured that I will be with you the entire time.

The only the way the task/ the challenge will conquer you/ me/ us is if we let. Let’s band together to victorious this Marvelous Mathematical Madness called ALGEBRA 1.

I promise you my personal best effort and total confidence in you and your ability. I ask the same of you. And I know that you yes to this simple request, we will have a wonder-filled academic year.

Sincerely yours;
