Biology 1 November 2-6 Announcements: Quiz on Wednesday on Cell Membrane Structure and Function MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK EVERY NIGHT!! NHIs on your progress report (as I'm sure you have seen) will add up and your grade suffers. Also you may come after school and work on NHI assignments (some exceptions) for half credit. The stamped daily homework cannot be made up so make it a priority!! Progress reports will given out every two weeks in hard copy form and will be emailed weekly. Please make sure I have a valid email address if you would like to be emailed a copy of your child's progress report. The best way to do this would be to email me at mrmartin@mcsdga.net and request email notification. Standards of the week: Students will analyze the nature of the relationships between structures and functions in living cells. a. Explain the role of cell organelles for both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, including the cell membrane, in maintaining homeostasis and cell reproduction. d. Explain the impact of water on life processes (i.e., osmosis, diffusion). Activities: Monday:
MON SB1. Students will analyze the nature of the relationships between structures and functions in living cells. a. Explain the role of cell organelles for both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, including the cell membrane, in maintaining homeostasis and cell reproduction. d. Explain the impact of water on life processes (i.e., osmosis, diffusion). What is diffusion? What is osmosis? What are the different types of solution in reference to the cell and how does the cell respond when placed in the solutions?
