MUSIC GRADES

First Quarter grades will be handed out this Monday, November 2. Here are some FAQ's concerning grades in music. Please remember that I do not "give" grades, the child "earns" them by their work in class:

Why is my child's grade so low??

Low music grades this quarter are primarily due to missing work. Please check online to see if your child missed any assignments. Since we are already into the second quarter, first quarter missing assignments will no longer be accepted.

How are music grades determined?

Grades are based on participation (following posted classroom rules, actively & positively contributing to our class time), and written classwork/homework/quizzes. Students EARN one participation grade every week, and at the end of the quarter participation makes up a majority of their quarterly average.

Beginning Band, Concert Band, Children's Liturgical Choir, & rehearsals for the Jr. High Talent Show have begun!!!

Please encourage your children to get involved in any musical activity here at St. John's!
