February 7, 2012 Thank you all for the birthday wishes. It was a wonderful day and the best part was getting to eat ice cream. Speaking of wonderful days...it is beautiful outside. The kids got to go out for recess. Think I'm having a touch of spring fever too. What a beautiful day. We went outside for recess and enjoyed the sunshine. Since today is the anniversary of my entrance into the world the kids will have no homework tonight. Mr. Grout stopped by and had them sing instead. They did such a nice job I just couldn't give them homework. Enjoy your evening. We had Spanish and Library today. Copied notes from Friday off the board on the anatomy of the heart. Finished talking about the Pilgrims, which also means we have finished chapter five. We will review tomorrow and test on Wednesday. They may use their notes for the test. In math we are reviewing fractions. Today we did p. 358 numbers 29-43. Social studies they completed the review questions on p. 169 numbers 1-5 in complete sentences. In English we discussed the verbs teach and learn. We started Family Life in Religion. Our story this week in Reading is The Dinosaurs of Waterhouse Hawkins. Skills include fact/opinion; context clues; main idea/detail; and reading a schedule. The nurse was in to talk to and show the kids a video about Scoliosis. She will start checking them next week.
