No school on Monday, February 20th in observance of President's Day.
This year the High School Theatre Department has competed with Jungalbook and were chosen State Champs! They are having one last performance, before they head to Nationals, on March 2 @7pm in the Oak Grove Primary Auditorium. Tickets are $7 each and all the proceeds will help fund their trip. The show is based on the Rudyard Kipling book, ( not Disney ;) ) but is very appropriate for children and adults as well. All the kids who have seen so far have loved it!
I am pleased with the response we got from the read a thon. You need to begin collecting your pledge money from your sponsors. This needs to be turned in by February 24th. Your child will be eligible for prizes for only the money that is turned in rather than the amount pledged. So, try to collect it all. Our school receives 100% of the profits.
We need money for Kentwood water. Five dollars per family should be plenty. Some students bring juice on their snack helper day, and that is great. But there are several students who prefer to drink water. So, in order for us to be able to provide water for snack and after recess, we need your help.
This week our theme is the solar system. We will mainly focus on the sun, the earth, and the moon.
We had a good number of students who knew all their sight words, color words, and number words this week. Congratulations to Alanna, Emma, Maleek, Sean, Hannah Hand, Teyton, Landon, Kerrigan, Carter, Hannah Harden, Joshua, and Kylie.
We will be learning the vocabulary words : synonym and measure.
