    REVIEW: Most classes received old test papers back today. We continued mixed reviews of our year's work.

     ASSIGNMENT: Completed Renaissance Reformation Exploration portfolio is due Friday. Work should really be completed now.  GET A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP TONIGHT!!Smile

     BEGINNING WORK: Red book--Final Test-- page 58 (3, 5, 6, 9); page 59 (11, 12)

     REVIEW: #13 crosswords were taken up in class today. All classes participated in a mixed review for our PASS test next week.

     ASSIGNMENT: Complete #14 review by Monday. Both are 100 point grades. You need to be finishing up any incomplete work in this portfolio.

     ESSENTIAL QUESTION / AGENDA: *Why did Europeans make voyages of discovery? Refer to pages 593-596 of the text. Students had time in class to work on the #9 notes page.

     ASSIGNMENT: Complete any remaining work on #9 notes. Have you finished the BACK of #8? ***Middle Ages Europe portfolios are coming home for parent signatures. Please return tomorrow for five extra points. Sometime over the next few days you will need to make any corrections needed to your Middle Ages Europe review.

     ESSENTIAL QUESTION / AGENDA: *What were the causes of the REFORMATION? Refer to pages 569-572 of the text.  Students used information presented in a flipchart to complete a notes page. We will finish this lesson tomorrow.

     ASSIGNMENT: Do you have any unfinished work? Please complete it if so. Also, you may want to check out the links at the bottom to take a "tour" of the Sistine Chapel!

     ESSENTIAL QUESTION / AGENDA: *HOW did the Renaissance begin?  *WHERE? Students reviewed the front of our #1 handout today, discussing the chain of events that leads to the beginning of the Renaissance. Ask your student to explain why it is considered to have begun in Florence, Italy.

     ASSIGNMENT: Return your signed interims. Seventh period is bringing home portfolios for the LAST unit (finally!) for parent signatures. Please return the entire packet tomorrow.

     BEGINNING WORK:  Complete the BACK of #9 using page 65 of the green Nystrom History Atlas.

     ESSENTIAL QUESTION / AGENDA: *What have we learned about the Middle Ages? All classes finished the Black Death lesson. Most classes were able to participate in a review of our unit.

     ASSIGNMENT: Complete your Middle Ages Europe take-home test tonight. You may use your materials as needed. Please return tomorrow with your completed portfolio. Seventh period is the only class that has NOT received graded portfolios from the previous unit. Please show these papers to parents if you have not yet done so and return to me.

     BEGINNING WORK: Prepare your new Table of Contents. Be sure to include the TITLE and YOUR NAME.

     ESSENTIAL QUESTION: * What was the training to become a KNIGHT? *What were the duties of a knight? Students completed the #4 skills page to practice getting information from reading diagrams. We read #5, "Making of a Knight" together and underlined or highlighted jobs and duties for each stage of becoming a knight. Students will need this information to complete the back of page 5 (due Friday). Refer to pages 512-515 in the text.

     ASSIGNMENT: Tomorrow is the day! Our one-day fundraiser for Mobile Meals is Thursday. #2 is due tomorrow. All should be complete, though a few classes still need to get our definitions of the last three words on the front. We will do that first thing tomorrow. You can complete everything else on your own. For Friday, please complete the BACK of #5. List the jobs for each stage and draw some type of illustration for each stage.  **FIRST PERIOD IS BRINGING HOME PORTFOLIOS FOR PARENT SIGNATURES.**
