Week of Sept. 7th - begin intensive study of the elements of fiction & short stories

Don't forget to complete 4 wacky tales for extra credit.  Gooble "wacky tales" for web site.

All classes = we will be reading about 9-11 from the New York Times article published the day after the tragedy.   We will answer questions concerning the article & write & PUBLISH found poems - very powerful

Extra Credit - create a power point or a video (may download Microsoft photostory for free for video) about 9-11 - pictures from then are very powerful.  You can add pictures from now as well.  No discussion or inclusion of the controvesy about the building of the mosque - We pay tribute now; we don't argue or trivialize.

Regular classes - Me Paragraphs (final - perfect - & rough draft) are due on Tuesday, 9-7    I always take papers late, but points are deducted.  Remember - write about YOU w/ lots of specific details.   Compiling the box was a pre-write.  You don't have to even mention the items in the box, and you definitely should not mention the box itself.  Study your critique sheet before you write.

Many have not completed the Big assign - assign - 1) set up communication -both student & parent send email to dlhargrave@lpssonline.com letting me know you've read class rules, etc.
