Religion Study Guide & Extra Credit

The study guide and extra credit for Chapter 15 was sent early.  The Unit 2 test will be taken before Chapter 15.  Please study for the Unit 2 test on Dec. 2nd.

St.Nicholas Day

Please send in one of your child's shoes for St. Nick to leave a treat.  Shoes need to be sent to school by Wed., Dec. 2nd. Make sure your child's name is on the shoe.

  *****Sharpened Pencils*****

Please make sure your child has 5 sharpened pencils in his/her zipper pouch daily.  It has become a big issue in class.    Thank you for your help. 

 Weekend Jumpstart!

Every Friday the Spelling notebook and the Reading book will be sent home.  This will help those students that want to get a jumpstart on the Spelling words and Reading story for the upcoming week.

Contacting the teacher: If you would like to contact me, the best way to receive a quick response is to send a note to school with your child.  Email may take longer for a response.

Homework: Home assignments are not listed on school notes.  Please check  in the Home Assignment section of your child's MOOSE book.

November 30-December 4:

 Tuesday:

Wednesday:  Spelling Practice Test , Religion Unit 2

Math Drill

Thursday: Dolch Phrases List 1, Spelling

Friday: Reading Frog and Toad Together

The writing assignment for Chapter 15 will be graded.

All writing will be done in class. 

***Math testing will be scheduled at the end of each chapter.

Please practice sight words and math drill facts daily.

Important Dates:

First Grade Mass- Thursday, Dec. 3rd

Los Ninos Holiday Drive- Nov. 30-Dec. 3rd

RELIGION ACTIVITY PAGE (Extra Credit):

Religion extra credit points may be earned by completing the chapter activity page sent home at the beginning of each chapter.  Please make sure all directions are followed completely.  A parent must sign the top of the page; therefore, confirming that the work has been completed correctly. The work must be turned in by the testing day.  Three points will be earned for completed work with signature.

 

 

RELIGION ONLINE QUIZ (Extra Credit):

Religion extra credit points may be earned by completing the online chapter quiz at www.faithfirst.com. You may email the results to the teacher, or print a copy of the score and send it to school labeled with your child's name and number. Mrs. Landry’s email is rlandry2@mbsbr.org.  The email must be received by the day of testing.  Two points will be earned for the online quiz.

 

 

SPELLING PRETEST:

A Spelling Pretest will be given on Wednesdays.  If your child makes a 100% on the pretest, then he/she will receive a Hip Hip Hooray certificate.  The Hip Hip Hooray certificate let's you know that your child made a 100% and will not have to take the test on Thursday. Any student making below 100% will have another chance to test on Thursday.

 

 

BOOK ORDERS:

          We will send Scholastic book orders home each month.  This is an optional purchase.  This is an inexpensive resource for obtaining books for recreational reading.  The children love getting the books, and it motivates them to do extra reading.  Please make the check payable to Scholastic Book Clubs.
