Please check your child's Moose Book daily for any changes to the schedule or class events.

Reminders

Please write a note to notify the teacher if your child is a walker, carpool rider, or bus rider (tell the color of the bus) on the first day of school.

Complete the packet of work received at the end of Kindergarten during the first week of school.  This packet will count for extra credit points in Reading and Math.

Continue to practice reading.  Remember, the reading test questions are not read to the class.

Complete the public library's summer reading program.  Send in the certificate to class the first week of school for extra credit.

Your child will need 2 jumbo-size book covers.  There is a form in the bulletin to order the covers for $3.50 each.  Please send an envelope with your child's name, room number, and Book Looks written on the front.

SEAT WORK PACKET:

          The Seat Work Packet will be worked on throughout the week during reading centers.  The pages are used to practice the current skills being taught in the core subjects.  The pages may be sent home to complete if they are not finished in class.  A treat is received by each student that turns in all pages on time and completed correctly. Coupons may be earned for the first 5 completed packets.  Seat Work Packets will be graded and averaged for 1 grade at the end of the nine weeks in Reading.
