Welcome to First Grade!

Come on in to work and play, we'll make good friends along the way!

Please check your child's Moose Book, binder, every evening for important papers and homework.  You may keep any papers in the Work To Keep section at home.  Any money or papers for school should be labeled with your child's name and where the money/paper should go.  It is your child's responsibility to turn in all money/papers to the teacher.  If you are sending something to school, please show your child where you put it and remind them to turn it in the next day.

The best way to contact me is through a hand written note. I will respond to you as soon as possible. 

 Please make sure your child has sharpened pencils for school each day. The students may bring home their pencil pouches nightly.

HOMEWORK - Home assignments are not listed on school notes.  Please check in the Home Assignment section of your child's MOOSE book.

Tuesday- Math Ch. 28, Religion Unit 4
Wednesday- English Adjectives and Adverbs

Book reports will be graded the week of the 16-20

***** I have truly enjoyed teaching this group of students. They have come such a long way from walking in on the first day wondering what was in store for them in first grade. I am so proud of each of them and how far they have come. I wish each of them the best in second grade, and as parents enjoy every experience with them next year. Have a great Summer!!!

IMPORTANT DATES:
May 23- Field Day, Awards -11:30

 Parents-- if you request your child's assignments when they are absent we expect you to pick up their books. If you do not, when they return they are left with no books and this causes more time to recollect their books at the end of the day.

RELIGION ACTIVITY PAGE (Extra Credit):
Religion extra credit points may be earned by completing the chapter activity page sent home at the beginning of each chapter.  Please make sure all directions are followed completely.  A parent must sign the top of the page; therefore, confirming that the work has been completed correctly. The work must be turned in by the testing day.  Three points will be earned for completed work with signature.

BOOK ORDERS:
We will send Scholastic book orders home each month.  This is an optional purchase.  This is an inexpensive resource for obtaining books for recreational reading.  The children love getting the books, and it motivates them to do extra reading.  Please make the check payable to Scholastic Book Clubs.
