Homework:
Math, 17.1 Spelling, pp. 67-68, due on Thursday Bring your flutophones Social Studies test, chapter 6, on Friday Student council is selling valentine pops at recess for 50 cents each Begin experimenting with your inventions. Your final idea doesn't have to be turned in until Feb. 22 (idea only) but you should start working on it to see how things go together, and what works for you. The Invention Convention will be on Fri. March 16 in the afternoon. We have a class Mass on Fri. with Fr. Hahn and the 5th grade Valentine's Day is next Tuesday, and we'll have a party that afternoon. If you would like to send in a treat or a game or activity, just let me know. We'll appreciate it. The children may decorate a Valentine box if they like, and if they choose not to, they may make a heart envelope in class for their valentines. We started working on a unit in Health on Consumers and Community Health. We also have almost finished our writing projects about Harris Burdick. We'll read one or two of them aloud each day. Today we made valentines for our shut-ins. We've been working on our new poem for February, "I Never Saw a Moor" by Emily Dickinson. We have a new behavior program which is school-wide. Each child gets a "passport" and behavior will be checked each day in specials classes, lunch, recess, and homeroom. After a month with 85% checked off, they will earn an afternoon movie. For Jan., Feb., Mar., and April the children will do either written or oral book reports. They will do two of each, and they can do them in any order they choose. We went over the details, but if anyone has questions, just let me know. I have been reading aloud On the Banks of Plum Creek by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Our Special Classes: Monday: P.E.
