Debbie Curtis Oak Grove Middle School 6th Grade Math May 14, 2012
The 6th Grade Awards Ceremony for the Curtis/Hylender/Ladner teams will be held this Tuesday, May 15, at 10:30 a.m. in the Gifted Center auditorium. I will be giving the Orleans-Hanna Test this Wednesday, May 16. It is a timed test that the 6th grade students take to help determine which students are ready for more in-depth algebraic thinking. The results from this test are only one of the criteria used to help determine which students will be placed into Advanced Math next year. The MCT2 results are also used, as well as the 6th grade math grades. Teacher recommendations are not allowed for student placement into Advanced Math. Students are no longer allowed to charge their lunches in the cafeteria. If students do not have lunch money, they must call home to get it. If your child is purchasing lunch from the cafeteria, please make sure that he/she has lunch money or that there is lunch money in his/her account. The sixth grade math exam schedule is as follows: Friday, May 18 Language Monday, May 21 Math and 7th period electives Tuesday, May 22 Science Below you will find the lessons for this week: Monday: The students will review for the Chapter 11 Test. Homework: Study notes and examples in spirals and the previous Ch. 11 quizzes. Tuesday: The students will take the Chapter 11 Test.
