Please be sure to check my school notes daily for updates on class assignments/homework.

Below is some helpful information about my classroom, please look it over and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me via email.

I look forward in another great school year and I look forward in teaching your child.

Sincerely,

Darla J. Ledwick

Team 602 Math

Supplies (needed each day!)

1. Presharpened pencils (several with erasers), absolutely no pens! (If pen is used I will not accept assignment.)

2. Loose leaf Notebook paper

3. Organized Notebook

4. Hand held pencil sharpener

5. Student Handbook (this is one method we will use to communicate with parents)

6. AR book (for those who finish assignments early)

We will be working from the Georgia Performance Standards, which can be found, at the following website: www.georgiastandards.org

The notebook is required to help students keep up with their assignments; we will organize this together in class. The students know where to find their math assignments and where to write down their assignments(agenda book/AMA hand book).

When a student is absent from class, it is the student's responsibility to find out what the missed assignment/s were. The assignments are posted at the student center along with their missed assignments, they just have refer to the student center (in the back of the classroom). If the assignments are not turned in by the third day after the student returns to class, those grades will be recorded as zeroes. There will be no makeup assignments!

For those students who simply fail to hand in assignments when due, their grade will suffer. For students who have not been absent, they have up to three days to hand in assignments, after the third day I will no longer accept the assignment and it will become recorded as a zero. These zeroes drastically lower student’s math grades.

One day late: I will deduct 10% off assignment grade

Two days late: I will deduct 20% off assignment grade

Three days late: I will deduct 30% off assignment grade.

After the third day the assignment becomes a zero.

Again here are my expectations of students in the classroom.

1. Come to class prepared to work each day.

2. Raise your hand and wait for permission to speak.

3. Begin work immediately (warm up) and remain on task.

4. Complete all assignments as instructed.

5. Keep your hands, feet, objects and negative comments to yourself.

6. Clean up your area before leaving; no trash in or around desks.

7. No gum, candy, or food unless I give it out.

8. Do not talk when I am talking.

9. Follow all Arnold Magnet Academy and MCSD Rules.

Consequences for failing to follow expectations:

1. 1st offense- Verbal warning will be given/name on board, unless it is a serious offense (automatic office referral).

2. 2nd offense- Teacher counsel

3. 3rd offense- Time Out/ Silent lunch, parent/s notified

4. 4th Offense- Detention given and 5 points deducted from conduct grade

I will also give silent lunch or team detention to those students who are continually off task

Please note: severe misconduct may result in immediate office referral.
