"He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life." - Muhammad Ali

WELCOME BACK

8th GRADERS!

I hope you had a relaxing, fun-filled summer.

Don't lose focus now!

Reminder: Start plugging away toward our 25 book goal!

Let's get this year going strong.

Our first unit focuses on...

"Literacy as a journey to empowerment."

You might be asking yourself, "What does that mean?"

Over the course of the 1st trimester, the answer will become clear, but you'll find it on your own.

Food for thought:

What would life be like if you weren't able to read and/or write?  What are some of the disadvantages you would face on a daily basis?

Remember to always strive to read at least 90 minutes every day. Reading every day leads to an increase in your reading level and fosters academic success in the future.
