CASA OLE READING INCENTIVES

Casa Ole has teamed up with Milton's Accelerated Reading  program to provide an ongoing reading incentive for our students. Each child should have received a Casa Ole bookmark that reminds them of the awards. As students read the required books (books within their Zone of Proximal Development) and earn points, they qualify for prizes. The reward is not tied to any particular reporting period. Once a student has reached any level of points they may visit Casa Ole to collect their prizes.

To collect prizes, they are required to:
1. Present their Casa Ole bookmark.
2. Provide a copy of the AR points earned.

( Students may obtain this information in the form of a print out from the school library.)

THANK YOU, CASA OLE, FOR SUPPORTING MILTON'S MIGHTY READERS!

 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Volunteers would be greatly appreciated to assist with the arrival of Cookie Dough orders the first week of December.  Anyone able to help with this endeavor are asked to contact Milton's PTO president, Ms. Jennifer Leger.

Milton's Parental Involvement Committee has recently published a document, according to the Lafayette Parish School Board's format, explaining methods offered by Milton Elementary Middle School to assure parent involvement and communication.  The document is accessible through the link provided below.

  MILTONSCHOOL.ORG
Milton Elementary Middle School now has its own Internet domain with its Homepage accessible at:
http://www.miltonschool.org
 and/or
 http://miltonschool.org
This is in addition to Milton's LPSS Website and is another measure taken to enhance school/home communication.

TESTING

Important testing information, concerning LEAP and iLEAP policies, are now available and can be reviewed at the link below.  This information is particularly important to those having students in grades 4 and 8.  The time taken to read and understand these spring testing policies is greatly appreciated.

JUST A REMINDER!

Students may begin arriving on the school premises at 7:25.   For the safety of all, we would greatly appreciate not having arrivals any earlier than this designated time.
Students arriving before 7:45 report to the gym and are encouraged to have a book on hand to use this  window of time to delve into the wonderful world of reading.
Once again, thank you for assuring that your child is on the school premises by 7:45 as all instruction begins promptly at 7:55 a.m.
