Welcome to my school notes! I will try to fill you in on our week at a glance. You may e-mail me from this site and I will respond as soon as possible.
Well, the year is closing fast. Our third grade award ceremony will be on Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. Please note that your student can NOT be checked out after the program, but must stay with their class for the duration of the day.
I would like to thank each and every one of you for the wonderful thoughtful gifts you gave me for teacher appreciation week. I loved each and every one of them--and your children for being so kind. I have had a wonderful year--and have had a wonderful class. I know fourth grade will be a wonderful year for them all. I will miss them!!!
Please don't let them slack up for the summer. Let them enjoy checking out books at the public library--and work on some math so they won't feel "rusty" in August. They can work on Louisiana Pass and Kid's College at home on the computer. Please plan on doing this daily thru the summer. One hour of reading, math, computer work could save them stress in fourth grade.
Goodbye, and have a great summer!!!!
Much love, Mrs. Dominic
But wait: what will they be doing this week???? That's easy, they will be doing: Handwriting and English warmups. Reading: Fun literature circles in new groups--fun cliff hanger stories. Math: Review time--doing fractions bingo, multiplication bingo, etc. Science: So, how do plants and animals digestive , nervous, and skeletal systems work in relation to what we have learned about ours? I have some great discovery films on these subjects as we discuss them. Rain Gutter Regatta on Wednesdayafternoon. The items and directions will come home on Monday. The directions are specific. Please help your child construct. They are due Wednesday. ------------------------------------------ Also: please remember to make sure they have their name tags. A good rule is to put it in their book sacks so they don't forget them. They need the tag to scan for their meals and also to check out books in the library. Failure to bring it will be a conduct mark for uniform infraction.
