Greetings all!

We are well into the new year, 2010!

We are studying matter in science. We'll continue this into February. After our matter unit, we'll be studying light and sound.Our studies in social studies are all about Reconstruction, and then learning about Civil Rights, and then Virginia's modern economy, and lastly all about Virginia's government.

At school, we are focusing on our Beeks ROAR program which is all about students being rewarded for proper and cooperative behavior. Students enjoy earning cub cash to be cashed in for rewards that are easily handled within the classroom. We have quarterly grade level celebrations, and several whole school celebrations that everyone enjoys.

Soon, you will see information regarding our field trip on April 23rd, to Petersburg, VA to the national Civil War museum. We'll also be sending home information about our 5th Grade Talent Show, which is scheduled March 26th.
