NOTE: All of your physical education schoolwork will be placed in your portfolio. Portfolios are kept in the fitness center and always available to you.
MIND - BODY - CHARACTER
California State Standards determine what students should know and be able to do. This class and the expectations are aligned with those standards. Students will determine their grade every quarter by the level of responsibility they take in the following:
MIND (30% of grade)
- 4 fitness/character lessons per qt.
- 1 test on the fitness/character lessons per qt.
- Fitnessgram Report & goal setting
- project(2nd & 4th qt.) and nutrition/performance lesson(1 per qt.)
BODY (40% of grade)
- "health" related fitness tests(at-above-approaching)
- personal responsibility for in-class fitness activities (following all instructions, staying on task)
CHARACTER (30% of grade)
- character log(self assessment)
- teacher observation of the students level personal and social responsibility in class (positive leader or follower, follows instructions, stays on task, respectful, works well with all, not just friends, motivated, engaged in learning)
