Hello students and parents; welcome back. I hope that you had a restful holiday. However, it is time for a new semester. Please come prepared with the proper materials and enthusian to finish the year with a bang.
Language Arts During the last semester we, covered nouns, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, and verbs. We will begin the new semester with prepositions. On Tuesday, January 10, 2012, we will be taking preposition notes and writing the spelling list for the week. From Wednesday through Friday, we will do activities with prepositions. Also, look for the reading passages that will be coming home as homework. Students will continue to visit the library every other Monday. I expect a written book report from one book after each library visit. Spelling list: 1. aboard 2. about 3. above 4. according 5. across 6. after 7. against 8. along 9. amid 10. among 11. around
Social Studies 6th grade students will review notes on Canada and have their final exams and projects on the subject. 7th grade students will complete activities on the Middle East. 8th grade activities TBA.
Math Students will complete a comprehensive exam before they begin the new semester. This exam will cover every operation attempted during the previous semester. This will allow us to track the progress of every student.
