Science- Read chapter 4, section 4 on Metamorphic Rocks.  Answer the questions at the end of the section.

Math 2/3- 1) Order of Operations worksheet (the sheet the sub gave you).  2) ACE P. 5 # 1-7, 12-14, 25, 27-29

Math 4/5- 1) PEMDAS poster is due tomorrow  2) Order of operations worksheet the sub gave you is due tomorrow  3)  The Order of Operations WS you received today is due tomorrow  4)  Rough draft pages for "My Special #" is due tomorrow.  I know this seems like a lot, but the students have had a week for their Special Nukber rough drafts and 2 days for the PEMDAS poster.

Tuesday, Sept 8th

Hi Students!  I was out today due to a dr. appt.  

Science- Students watched a video about volcanoes and took notes.  If ou were absent today, you will not have to do this assignment. 

Math 2/3- Order of operations worksheets due on Thursday.

Math 4/5- Students worked on Order of operations worksheets.  This will be due on Thursday.  Your PEMDAS posters are due on Thursday as well. I will also collect your rough drafts for "My Special Number" then.

Thursday, September 3rd

Happy Birthday, Webster!  Webb Bridge is 13 years old today. :)  Students enjoyed cake & popcorn at lunch to celebrate the occasion. :)

Science- Work on rock project.  I am setting up student accounts to access the online textbook.  I have run into a problem  (need a certain code) but hopefully will have it worked out tomorrow.  Thanks for your patience! :)

It would be great if someone could bring in some more hand sanitizer.  I am running low already. :(  I have been encouraging students to use it and to wash their hands often to prevent the spread of germs.

Science- Read pages 98- 101 in your science book.  Answer the questions on page 98 in complete sentences.

Math 2/3- Finish worksheets on Order of Operations.  Your Order of Operations poster is due on Friday.

Math 4/5- No homework tonight.  Just work on your "My Special Number" project.

Science- Read over your lab safety contract this weekend.  You will have a test on the lab safety rules on Wednesday, August 19th. 

Math- Both classes:  Your classroom rules quiz will be on Tuesday, August 18th.  Please get the bottom portion of the class rules signed by Tuesday.  Set up your math binder this weekend.  In class today, students received a sheet with details about how to set up the different sections in the binder.  Binders will be checked on Monday.  I'm not picky about the size of the binder- a 1" or 1 1/2" binder will be fine.

Announcements:

Please cover your math and science book by Friday!

All homerooms will attend a special assembly in the gym tomorrow during 1st period regarding school rules and regulations. 

Tomorrow all math classes will take a "Sixth Grade Diagnostic PreTest".  Student performance will help me in planning purposes.  It will not count as a grade in the computer, but I will look at the results very carefully.  This is not a test someone can really prepare to take- I will encouorge students to do their best! :)

Homework:

Science-  Your lab safety/safety symbols test will be on Wednesday, 8/19.  Lab safety rules were handed out yesterday.  Please read these and get the paper signed.  We will spend Friday and Monday in class discussing them.

Math Classes-  The quiz over my class rules will be on Tuesday, 8/18.  Please review these, sign the bottom portion and have your parents sign the bottom portion.  Parent, please discuss the importance of these class procedures with your child.  Thank you! :)
