T | Warm-Up: Why is the Euro so strong against the American dollar? Activity: Intro to the European Union: Identifying the Ten Steps, the countries and the reasoning behind the founding of the European Union. Students will create a timeline along with a map using color to identify major events and founding nations of the EU. Students will be provided a final checklist for the EU pamphlet Thursday. Pamphlet, PowerPoint or Poster will be due Friday after Thanksgiving Break. | Article Review due | Area of Interaction: Approaches to Learning Students will work in small groups to begin doing mini web and docu-quests about the EU. Students will gather information about the EU using the pamphlet rubric to answer the Essential/Global Questions about not only the EU but also international trade, tariffs, embargos, and international exchange of currencies.
