Mrs. Woodrum's Weekly Plans & Homework                              Welcome to my homework page!  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have during the year. Homework is given almost every night Mon.-Thurs. Also, students should be reading their AR book regularly and testing on them. (Feb.8- Feb.12)

READING-  AR will count 4 grades this 9 wks. and students should have atleast 10 pts. I decided to give more weight to the AR grade this 9 wks. because most students are not taking it seriously. We will not have a story this week. ELA8LSV2, ELAR1-4,ELA8W1-4  We will have our first CRCT vocab. test on Mon. They will typically have 4 or 5 days to study each set. They will get the new list on Mon. 2/8 and will have the test on Tues. 2/16. 

GRAMMARWe will finish Ch. 8 this week and test Wed. Students really need to study, this is a big chapter. ELA8C1a-8C1g.

HOMEWORK

MON.- Grammar book p. 179 Ex. 13 & Review G Study for the Ch. 8 test (There are a lot of rules for this chapter-Know them)

TUES.- CHAPTER 8 TEST ON WED. STUDY! STUDY! STUDY!

WED.- MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE WORDS WITH YOU and an AR book. 

THURS.-  NO SCHOOL - Study CRCT words-test Tues.

FRI./WEEKEND-Read your AR book. Do you have 10 pts? Study CRCT vocab. Test Tues.

Reading and Literature                                                                                                      ELA8R1 The student demonstrates comprehension and shows evidence of a warranted and responsible explanation of a variety of literary and informational texts.                                                                                                                                                                                                      ELA8R2 The student understands and acquires new vocabulary and uses it correctly in reading and writing.                                                                                                                                                   ELA8R3The student reads aloud, accurately (in the range of 95%), familiar material in a variety of genres, in a way that makes meaning clear to listeners.                                                                                                                                                                                                      ELA8R4 The student acquires knowledge of Georgia authors and significant text created by them.                                                                                                                                                          ELARC1 The student reads a minimum of 25 grade-level appropriate books or book equivalents (approximately 1,000,000 words) per year from a variety of subject disciplines. The student reads both informational and fictional texts in a variety of genres and modes of discourse, including technical texts related to various subject areas. (AR Reading should be a daily activity)                        ELA8RC2 The student participates in discussions related to curricular learning in all subject areas.
