Spelling Mon.- Wed. Study spelling words for test on Thurs. Mon. Write each word twice Tues. Write words from easiest to most difficult Wed. Take written pretest and write each misspelled word 5 times.
Language Thurs. Review metaphor, simile, hyperbole & personification for quiz on Friday. Be able to identify and create each type of figurative language.
Simile – Comparison using “like” or “as” She is as silly as a monkey.
Metaphor – Comparison without using “like” or “as”. The frozen river was a mirror of ice.
Hyperbole – Exaggeration I ate so much I thought my stomach would burst.
Personification – Giving human characteristics to nonhuman things. The kite hopped from tree to tree in the wind.
