Name: ___________________________ Autobiography Project
Directions: You will be responsible for writing your autobiography. The autobiography must be 2-3 pages handwritten, 1 ½ pages typed. Content, grammar, and spelling will be components in the grading method. Your autobiography must also include at least three major memories from your life. These memories must be described in detail (using the five senses, for example) and indicate the impact they have had on your life. Organization will also be a component of the grading rubric; autobiographies are written chronologically. You must include transitional words to introduce new paragraphs. In addition, you will be responsible for including three supplements to your autobiography. Choose from below:
- An acrostic poem of your entire name
- A “ME” collage
- An original drawing that is representative of you and/or a memory
- A ten question interview with someone who has known you 7+ years
- A “soundtrack” listing of your life (must include at least 5 songs with an explanation of each)
- An original poem or story written by you (NOT from a class assignment)
- A quiz about you (10 question minimum) including the key
- A letter to yourself written either to or from yourself ten years from now
- A list of your ten favorite things with explanations
- Any other supplement approved by Miss Smith in advance

This is just a reminder to parents about filling out and returning the paperwork that went home with your child this week. Also, I sent home my parent letter containing information about procedures for my class, including the binder set-up. Attached was a page with two slips to be filled out by parents. MJH is still abuzz with the new school year excitement! It's great to be a part of it!

From time to time, I will try to update my school blog to give you announcements, feedback, or create a discussion board of sorts. I am very excited to begin this new year with you and your child! Please let me know your thoughts and feedback as well.
