OLIVER & COMPANY

Our Title 1 Reading classes are moving right along! We are implementing the EOG strategies from Larry Bell. The students have been really excited singing his song, doing the reminder motions of the vocabulary, and learning the UNRAAVEL strategy. We will continue to stress the importance of these test taking skills to help our students to better understand the "doable" strategies to make them more profiecient on the EOG tests.
The second grade classes are reading various books from the Early Success Reading Program. The students have also been working with short vowels, writing sentences, completing story maps, and reviewing the sight words required for second grade. In a few weeks, we will have Bring a Friend Day in
which students can bring a special friend to share what they do wehen they come to our Title classes.
The first grade students have been reviewing skills learned earlier in the classroom to reinforce stronger reading and understanding. I have been very proud of their progress.

If you have questions concerning Title 1, please contact our school. Mrs. Barlow and I will be happy to chat with you.
