Kindergarten- this year you will explore many different ways of making music: singing, dancing, playing instruments...and much more!  At the end of the year you get to put on a Graduation Showcase!

1st Grade- this year you will learn much more about music through listening and creating in many different ways.  In December you get to put on a Holiday Showcase!

2nd Grade- this year you will explore music from around the world!  Every few weeks we will "travel" to a different country to participate in many different styles of music.  After completing each country we will hang its flag by the map of the world to show where we've been.

3rd Grade- this year you will learn how to play the recorder!  Starting in February you will get to sing in the Beginner's Chorus.  There will be an end of the year concert to show off your hard work.

4th Grade- this year you will learn a LOT more about reading, writing, and performing music by participating in a number of group activities.  You have the chance to join the Advanced Chorus which puts on a winter and a spring concert at Samoset Middle School.  If you join chorus, you can also try out for EMF select chorus.  You can also join the Beginner's Orchestra of the Beginner's Band.

5th Grade- this year you will learn about various styles of music by participating in many small and large group projects which will all end in class performances.  We will record these performances and critique them ourselves.  At the end of the year you will all sing at the Graduation Ceremony.  You can also join Advanced Chorus and Advanced Band or Advanced Orchestra which puts on winter and spring concerts at Samoset Middle School.  If you join these groups you can also try out for EMF select Chorus, Band, and Orchestra.  If you would like, you can participate in NYSSMA solo festival, where you sing or play a song in front of a judge for a medal.
