ASSIGNMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 6^th – 10^th, 2012

SCIENCE due Friday

·         We have begun our Weather Unit. Please ask your child about keeping weather data. 

·         Assignments will be assigned daily and written in their agendas depending how far we get during the class time.  Please check their agenda daily and go over all their work with them before signing the agenda.                                                                       

MATH due Friday

·         Homework will be written on the board for your child to copy down in their agenda daily.  If they have any questions have them call one of their agenda buddies for help.  If you have any questions feel free to write a note in the agenda for me.                                               

·         Homework will be assigned nightly Monday through Thursday.  Please work with your child and correct any errors with them.  Once you have done this please sign the agenda.                  

·         We will continue with Unit 5 Addition and Subtraction with Fractions. This week we will be discussing equivalent fractions and simplifying fractions.

LANGUAGE ARTS WITH MR. DUFFIELD

·         In Reading, we are reading the book “Number the Stars”.  We will be reading chapters 6 – 10 this week. The students will have questions to answer after each chapter and quizzes throughout the reading.  In writing we continue to work on Tall Tales.  Please check the agenda for any homework.

SOCIAL STUDIES WITH MR. DUFFIELD

·         We are studying World War 1. 

Parents Math Expressions has a wonderful website for you and your child to use if needed or for a review.  You can get to it by going to http://hollysprings.wcpss.net clicking on the parents and then clicking on Math Expressions Resources for parents.

The new WCPSS Assignment plan details are posted on the HSES and WCPSS websites.  Feel free to look at either site for answers to most of your question.  If you have any additional questions feel free to call 557-2660 and ask to speak with Ms. Locklair.                                                        

PARENTS PLEASE ALLOW YOUR CHILD TO GET ON STUDY ISLAND FOR MATH AND SCIENCE.   THE TEST QUESTIONS ARE A GREAT REVIEW FOR THE END OF GRADE TESTS WE WILL BE TAKING THE EOG’S IN JUNE.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
