May 7-11, 2012 Class Philosophy: As a class, we will...Never Settle for Less than Our BEST!

Thanks · We would like to thank the following people for sacrificing their free time to chaperone us on our economics field trip…Ms. Culpepper, Mrs. Montet, Ms. Moten, Ms. House, Mrs. Thomas, Mrs. Alleman, and Mrs. Hector. We hope you enjoyed your time with us and thanks for making sure we displayed · CONGRATULATIONS to our new Accelerated King and King Chase, King Danny, Queen Emmie, & Queen Kylen These FOUR students had the highest AR average for the month and received a monetary reward! · Weekly progress report will go home on · Field Day will be Friday, May 11th. · The fourth nine weeks involves many projects in my class. Students are required to pay attention in class, complete class and home assignments, and turn in final projects on time.  English Language Arts: (includes reading, grammar, writing, & spelling) · Read 20 minutes every night. Parents must sign reading log each night. · Book Clubs · Reinforcement of various reading skills · Daily Language Review/ Proofreading · Comprehension Assessments
Math: · Review and Enrichment of fourth grade math skills. · Minute Math activity sheets are now graded. · Word Problems · Basic multiplication and division facts
Science: · Introduction to organ systems of the human body
Social Studies: · Economics · Inventions: Students are responsible for developing a product to “sell”. This invention cannot be something already in existence; however, students can take a current product and improve it’s capabilities by at least 50%. This will be recognized as a “new” invention. Each student will be required to present a 30 second commercial advertisement of his/her invention and a model (NOT A PICTURE) of the product must be present in the commercial.
