Welcome to the Rockstars of Room P14 website!! We are so excited that you have chosen to visit our class homepage! This website is designed so that we can share what's happening in our classroom with our family and friends. As you explore our site, you can find our daily schedule, check out what we have for homework, read about special events and learning that is taking place, view cool projects, and so much more. Announcements *Hi parents, I would like to say thank you so much for all of your congrats, thoughtful gifts, and best wishes!!! You guys are greatly appreciated and your warm thoughts are really touching. Thanks again!!! Mrs. Leday *Reminder: Don't forget that your child's biography project is due Friday!! If you need just a couple of more days to put your finishing touches on it, I will give students until Monday to turn it in. *Please be aware that we are no longer collecting Capri Sun pouches or Nestle Pure Life Labels. We are still collecting Box Tops, Campbell's Soup Labels and used Ink Cartridges. What we're learning this Week Spelling: Since our week is short, we won't have our usual spelling test on Friday. We'll work on our review unit which covers some of the previous units your child has studied. Reading/English: This week we will begin our new theme The Land Shapes People's Lives. Our comprehension strategy will be Synthesizing. In English, students will review subject verb agreement. Students will also be working on writing nonfiction passages on a researched topic. We will continue our small group reading instruction this week. I will meet with different groups each day. Don't forget that students are required to read their A.R. book each night for 15-20 minutes. Please encourage your child to take their time while reading their A.R. books so they will be successful on their A.R. test. This weeks vocabulary words are: horizon, reflection, fertile, farmland, and vast. Students will be tested on these 5 words on Friday. Math: We have been studying geometry for the past couple of weeks. This week, we will review different geometrical figures along with different types of 3 dimensional objects. Students will be assessed on 3 dimensional objects on Friday. We will also continue to practice solving constructive response word problems weekly. Social Studies: This week in Social Studies we will be studying important facts about the Louisiana Purchase. Students will record important facts that they will have study for a Louisiana Purchase Quiz on Friday. Science: This week, we will continue studying electricity. Students will discuss how electricity works. Students will also practice taking notes during Science along with filling in their outlines. Homework for the week of November 2- November 6 Monday: Spelling: words 3xs each Science: Page F75 Think and Write Questions (1,2,3,5) Tuesday: Wednesday: Thursday: Citizens of the Month August
