Announcements
*BINGO! BINGO! BINGO!! will be held Friday, February 4th. Our class will be putting together a movie basket and a Cajun foods basket. I will send home a letter with a list of things you can donate to the basket. The baskets will be raffled at the BINGO!!
*PENCILS, PENCILS, PENCILS!! Please check with your child to see if they are in need of pencils. Some of the students are running real low on pencils and they need their stock to be replinished.
*The following students have made their A.R. goal for the 2nd 9weeks. Encourage your child to read, so that they can reach their A.R. goal.

What Are We Learning This Week
January 23-27
Spelling: Contractions
Reading: Our reading strategy for this week is reviewing Determining Importance. We will continue practicing our previous reading strategies also. Vocabulary: claimed, injured, foreign, explore and cargo. Students will be tested on Friday.
Writing: This week in writing students will be working on persuasive writing and writing outlines. Our grammar skill is using articles.
Social Stuidies: Students will continue learning about the economy. Students will study how natural resources play a major role in our basic human needs. Student will study what makes up Louisiana's economy and the importance of human resources, capital resources, and natural resources. Students will take a test on Friday.
