Week of June 1st, 2009

Clarification- Our end of year picnic is Friday - Sorry! The children will be packing a lunch that day, but we will be having other munchies and an ice cream bar.

Spelling for the remainder of the year will be review words from previous units. We will also be reviewing those second grade words from the word wall that the children should know automatically.

In writing, we will be completing our nonfiction books. As soon as they are finished, we will work on personal narratives.

This week in reading,we will focus on some author studies. Our first author study was on Kevin Henkes. This week we will be taking a look at Cynthia Rylant.

In math, our focus for Unit 12 is year-end reviews and extensions. We will review time and calendar, multiplication facts, bar graphs, fractions and basic facts.A review guide was attached inside their blue math folder along with all of the homework pages.

In Science, we our finishing up our unit on
on Growth and Change.

*I want to let everyone know that due to some severe food allergies in our room this year, we can not have any items containing banana or cinnamon in them. I really appreciate your cooperation with this.
