November 8, 2011    DEC. 16th FCA sponsors a FREE breakfast with carols, hot chocolate and homemade cinnamon rolls! 7:15 a.m.

Language Arts/Walters - Today we searched for mood making phrases in the Creamation of Sam McGee and talked about TONE. All but block #1 need to finish the study guide questions 1 & 2, page 48 of packet. We are learning the Wassailing song to accompany A Christmas Carol.

Just a reminder to those parents who volunteered to bring in desserts for the IRT, November 23rd dessert celebration - be sure to label TEAM 212 on those desserts left at the school.  Wassail contributors will be contacted soon on what to send in.  Volunteer workers will also be contacted. Thanks so much to those of you who have been able to send in the $ and permission slips for our November 23rd field trip to IRT. This needs to be in by Oct.7th.

Language Arts/Walters - Students need to continue learning the prepositon song for Friday.  They are reading The Incredible Journey. The setting of the novel is Canada. In class work includes answering essay questions, figurative language identification, and advanced vocabulary. Ask your child about the story that was made into a movie!

A spelling assessment over the provinces, territories, and their capitals is on our agenda for two next weeks.

Today we had an author and musician from Seymour, IN, who encouraged students to find their passion for life by reading and writing. Ask your child about the 45 minute program which encouraged reading for filling our minds with information for use in life careers.

THANKS SO MUCH TO ALL WHO ATTENDED THE 212 COOK OUT! Mr. Mullis's famous hot dogs and all the great side dishes from the various families made a great feast! We loved chatting with you and getting to know our families better.
