Week of March 22-26

Students will be participating in writing their own poems and presenting them at our Poetry Slam in April. The date is Friday, April 16th. Parents and family will be invited.  We will hold our event in the media center. Students will be allowed to dress up "classy." Please plan on attending. Students have been working very hard on writing poems.

This week we will continue reading different types of poetry and learning related vocabulary. Students will be learning how to analyze and interpret poems.  Students will also be writing their own poems. We will also be reviewing for ClassScape.  Our next ClassScape test is scheduled for Wednesday, March 31. We will have a vocabulary and reading comprehension test this Thursday.

If anyone would like to make donations of kleenex, markers, notebook paper, or pencils for our classroom, it would be greatly appreciated.

Homework for the week:

Monday: Read one hour this week. Create an illustration or write a summary for your book.

Tuesday: Vocabulary crossword--all of these words will be on Thursday's test.

Wednesday: Study for vocabulary test.

Thursday: Complete reading homework.

Friday: No homework.
