A Message from Roo:
Hi, my name is Roo. My baby and I are going to stay with your family for the week. Please have your mom or dad read us lots of books, and write the names of the books on my map. Return me and the map to school on Friday morning. When I come home with you, please leave me and my baby at your home. We are very shy. We do not like to go to the store, the park, ballgames, church, other friends houses, etc. If we were left behind somewhere Miss Laura would be very sad. We would love to sleep with you and see all your toys. Please also protect us from your pets.
JACKETS Our Classroom stays pretty cool. The majority of the students need a light jacket or sweater indoors if they are not wearing long sleeves and long pants/tights. Please leave one in your child's backpack for them to use if needed.
**Now that the weather is cooler, please send a coat for recess.
Star Student of the Week !
This next semester your child will share how special and unique they are in various and different ways. You will not have to do a picture poster board; instead we will focus on talking about ourselves and building self confidence. Please plan to bring a snack for the class each day.
As Star Student of the Week your child can share with the class what makes them special. Each child can come up with ideas of what they would like to bring and show to the class or offer to the class. Please schedule your activity with me and they need to be no more than 15 minutes in length. Examples:

Memory Verse Due - Fri. Feb. 10TH "We love Him because He first loved us." 1 John 4:19
Since our class is Pre-K, we will be working all year on preparing for Kindergarten. We will work on being self-sufficient, raising our hands, staying in our seats when asked, completing seat work, not distracting others and following direct instructions. These are very important concepts to learn so that Kindergarten will be a much smoother transition.

Please make sure to pack utensils, cut up items that are too big, and "pre-tear" the tops of cheese sticks. Our goal is to have your child able to open all their lunch items unassisted by the holiday break.
** Attire ** The preschool students are not required to wear the LCA uniform. Please send your child to school in comfortable clothes and shoes. Closed toed shoes are best since our playground is covered with wood chips. We will be doing art projects and we will do our best to protect clothes, but as we all know kids are kids and stains happen. Please purchase a LCA t-shirt from Parker Uniform (link below). It is navy blue and has the LCA crest on it. This shirt is required wear on all field trips.
