M-W-F School Notes May 2012 ** Be sure to scroll all the way down to the next set of jumping Kangaroos for all new information. Well, we only have 3 more classes together. It is surprizing how quickly the year goes. I hope every parent realizes just how much their child has learned and accomplished this past year. It is all their doing too. They had the will and courage to grow from a Pre-schooler to a student. Every one of them has excelled. I am so glad we were all able to take this journey together. This class is such a sweet bunch of kids. They all love each other and deeply feel each others successes and struggles. I can't tell you how many times I have seen one of them stop and help a fellow classmate. They are always willing to cheer each other on. We always laugh at what a "huggy" group we are. I will miss those mob hugs this summer. I have been blessed to be their teacher. Listed below is what we will be studing for the week of: Mon. May 21st - Fri. May 25th We are going to do a lot of reviewing this week.
Friday, May 25th Last Day of School - It is a full day 8:45 - 1:00 p.m. NO Folders, backpacks or lunch boxes needed :)
On our last day of school we would like to spend the day letting your children play and enjoy being together with no formal party. Sometimes the last day can be hard on us teachers and on the children when they realize they are going to have a different teacher next fall or new school. As teachers we love spending some fun unstructured time with the children.
We are planning to spend some extra time outside.
Please apply sunscreen to your child Wear cool clothes Send a completely disposable lunch (paper sack type)
Feel free to come and join your child in our classroom at 12:45 to enjoy a treat before we all say goodbye.
Since our class is Pre-K, we will be working all year on preparing for Kindergarten. We will work on being self-sufficient, raising our hands, staying in our seats when asked, completing seat work, not distracting others and following direct instructions. These are very important concepts to learn so that Kindergarten will be a much smoother transition.
