You will be able to sign your child out with me if you would like to take them home with you from Boomerangs. Please see flyer posted at our door for more information. *Mix and Match Day On Friday, November 6, come to school all mixed up for Mix and Match Day and the letter "Mm"! Thanks *Hats and Happy Meals During our study of the letter "Hh", we will be wearing our craziest Hats and enjoying Happy Meals from McDonalds on Wednesday, November 11. I will have a sign up sheet for you to place your order with the prices for each Happy Meal and a white bag for you to place your money in. Please sign the bag after you have paid. I just want to let you know that my standards for your children are held very high and I hope that yours are too. For example, the report says, "Understands the use of scissors and can cut a piece of paper." I will not give your child an "M" for mastered, if he/she cuts off arms or legs and the like, they will receive an "I" for introduced. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. *Thanksgiving Break We will not have school the week of November 23-27. Happy Thanksgiving! *Preschool Christmas Program Just an FYI, our annual Preschool Christmas Program will be on Tuesday, December 8th at 6:30pm. More information will be available as the date gets closer. *Treats for our Treasure Box If you have any leftover candy/treats from Fall Festival could you please think of our Treasure Box and send them to school? We would really appreciate anything you might have. Also, if you have any leftover Birthday Party treats/candy we would love to have them as well. Thanks *Small Jacket I know that the weather outside is frightful, but the temperature inside tends to be chilly. Some of the children might be cold during the day in our classroom. Please ask your child if they are cold and send in a small jacket or sweater for them that they can carry in their backpack and use whenever they need to. I know that I am cold on occasion and they probably will be as well.

Mrs. Tena will read a book that goes along with the Bible lesson we are going over in our classrooms or with a particular theme we are working on. It is a lot of fun and the children really enjoy it. *Library We will be going to the LCA Library once a week. Each child will be allowed to checkout one book. These books will remain in the classroom for everyone to share. These books will not be taken home. *Computer Lab We will be going to Computer Lab twice a week. There is a large variety of games that the children will get to enjoy. The children have a lot of fun and don't even realize they are learning. Each child has their own computer and headphones so that they can concentrate on their task at hand. *Star Student We will be having a "Star Student" of the week each week during the school year. A letter will be placed in your child's folder to explain the details. I will be the first "Star Student". Stop by and check out my poster of my family. Stay and Play is open to 3 year olds through 1/2 day Kindergarten children and is available on Monday through Thursday until 3:30. The first Stay and Play will be on Tuesday, Sept. 1. If you haven't signed your child up yet, you might want to before your child begs you to! *Spirit Day Every Friday is Spirit Day at LCA! Wear your school shirt and jeans to show your school spirit! *Bible Verses We will be starting to memorize Bible verses in September and continue throughout the school year. On Monday, the verse will be presented to the class. We will work on it everyday in class, but practicing it at home will also benefit your child. On Friday, the students will recite the verse to me and I will be giving a colored bead to those who complete the verse and reference correctly. Each child will get to make a "Bible Verse" necklace with the beads they earn during the school year. This is a really important and fun project that the children love doing. Please encourage your child to participate. You will be proud and amazed at what your child learns about God and the Bible through these verses. WK 1 (Nov. 2-6) "O give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good." Psalms 106:1 WK 2 (Nov. 9-13) "Blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it." Luke 11:28 WK 3 (Nov. 16-20) "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 WK 4 (Nov. 30-Dec. 4) Same verse as above. I will be asking your child to recite the verse to me on Friday, December 4. *Forgot Something I hope that I haven't forgotten anything, but if I did, I will have a note on the sign in table or wall outside of our classroom. Please check there for updates as well. Thank *Thanksgiving Poem Count your blessings instead of your crosses; Count your gains instead of your losses; Count your joys instead of your woes; Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your smiles instead of your tears; Count your courage instead of your fears; Count your full years instead of your lean; Count your kind deeds instead of your mean; Count your health instead of your wealth; Count on God instead of yourself.
Wow, what a way to brighten your day? It sure does mine! Take care and may God bless, Mrs. Lisa |
