The Wallace Weekly November 30-December 4 `
We will have a college preparatory curriculum that will offer dual high school/college credit courses, along with expanded athletic and fine art opportunities. Of course, we will continue to provide domestic travel experiences. The goal is to expand to international travel for our secondary students. Tell your friends!
Reenrollment Begins for the 2010-2011 School Year!
Reenrollment forms for the 2010-2011 school have gone home in your student’s backpack. As always, we guarantee reenrollment for our current eligible students and their siblings if the enrollment application and fee are returned by Friday, January 29, 2010. To encourage families to register early, LCA elementary and secondary schools will offer the discount enrollment fee of $250 through the month of January.
PHONICS: Review short vowel sounds, introduce Pp and Xx, and combine those sounds with the vowels to learn blends. The students will also learn that a double consonant at the end of a word makes the sound once. NUMBERS: Adding on 1, writing time to the hour, 50 and 60 Families, and "after" numbers. SOCIAL STUDIES: America: Our Great Country: Our Flag, George Washington, and Washington D.C. BIBLE: "Israel in the Desert." The students will learn that rules are given to us by God and rules are meant to help us. BIBLE MEMORY: We know that we have come to know Him if we obey His commands. 1 John 2:3. SHOW & TELL: Item beginning with P: Aidan, Austin, Brooks, Elijah, Hudson, and Jayme. Item beginning with X: Kyle, Mark, Morgan, Sibley, and Tristin. Show & Tell will be Friday. Library is every Monday. Please remember to send your child's library book to school so he will be able to check out a new book. Books are checked out for one week. Thank you, Tristin, for the snacks this past week. Aidan will provide snacks the week of November 30-December 4. Report cards went home Thursday, November 19. Please sign the envelope and return it to school. The contents of the envelope are for you to keep. Friday, November 20, will be an early release day. School will be dismissed at 12:00. School will resume Monday, November 30. Don't forget! Friday, November 20, is the LCA Family Thanksgiving Feast. The kindergarten students and their families will go to lunch at 10:20 that day. If you have older students, pick them up first and come to the kindergarten room at 10:20. Your whole family will then go to the gym for the feast. Your child is free to leave with you after the feast. Your child does not need to bring his/her backpack and folder to school Friday, November 20. LCA will be having a Book Fair December 8-10, in the Angel Chapel. 20% of book sales will go to our school. The annual elementary Christmas program will be Thursday, December 10, at 6:30 p.m. The boys and girls have already begun practicing. I hope everyone will be able to attend.
