The Wallace Weekly May 21-25 PHONICS: all special sounds have been learned and we continue to review them. Please remember to listen to your child read his reading homework and always return the book and bookmark the next day. NUMBERS: Subtract 1 from number, tell time to hour, half hour and 15 minutes past the hour, count by 2s, review addition facts in order to give answer by sight rather than using fingers or counters. Please have your child practice the addition facts if he/she needs to use fingers rather than knowing the sums by sight. We have learned the addition facts up to the 10 Addition Family. SCIENCE: God's World and The Seashore. BIBLE: "Learning From God's Word." The students will learn that God wants us to learn the truths of the Word from the time we are very young so we can grow up to be godly Christian SNACKS: We have a supply of various leftover snacks that we will use for the remainder of school. Library books are due Tuesday, May 15. We will continue to visit the library on Tuesday, but no books will be checked out. There will be a used uniform sale Friday, May 18, in Room 340 from 8:45-11:00. Students will be allowed to wear "spirit wear" (LCA T-shirt and denim blue jeans or capris) May 17-25. If your child chooses to wear shorts, they must be uniform shorts, not denim shorts. Your child may also wear the regular uniform on those days. The last day of school is Friday, May 25, and it is a full day of school. End-of-year parties begin at 1:45. Your child is free to leave at the end of the party. It is hard to believe that this is the last Schoolnotes update for this school year. The year has flown by so quickly. I would just like to tell all of you thanks for the wonderful year, and most of all, thanks for sharing your precious children with me. They have truly been a joy to know and work with. I will miss each and every one. I hope that all of you have a safe, fun, and blessed summer. With love, Carolyn Wallace cwallace@lakelandbaptist.org
