![]() ART NEWS Kindergarten Pinch pots...students will get their hands on clay! 1st Grade Paper Weavings...students will be painting their own papers to use as strips for a weaving. 2nd Grade Tints and Shades...students will learn about color and value. 3rd Grade Weaving...students will make their own textile weaving. 4th Grade Bold Line Design...students will create a dramatic line design that stands out looking somewhat 3-dimensional on a 2-dimensional surface. 5th Grade Four seasons tree...students will be challenged to create a tree that represents all 4 seasons. 6th Grade "10"...students will stretch their imaginations to design a project with the theme of 10. 7th/8th Grade Ribbon Line Drawings...students will learn how to create depth with line, form, and shape.
ART ROOM GRADING POLICY ...students are graded on three basic criteria: - Craftsmanship and completion of project - Demonstration of new learned skills - Effort/Behavior ELEMENTARY GRADING SCALE: E = Student meets and goes well beyond expected criteria. S+ = Student meets and exceeds standard expected criteria. S = Student meets standard expected criteria. S- = Student falls just below expected criteria. N = Student is not meeting expected criteria. U = Unsatisfactory MIDDLE SCHOOL GRADING SCALE: Please refer to the LCA Student Handbook for the letter grade scale. A student's effort and behavior are PRIMARY in the grading process. ART RULES are posted in my room and consequences of breaking the rules start with a warning and repeat offenses warrant a note home to keep parents informed of behavior.
